Short Stories

Books once a year aren't enough for you? You're in luck! Jerome Wetzel will post one short story whenever he feels like it! Hehe. Seriously, though, I will post at least a couple more in 2009. Check back here often to find out more secrets of the intricate saga! He is currently taking suggestions for AANEX Volume Two now! The short stories from Volume Two will begin appearing online in late 2010, after the release of Volume One.

November 2006. The first short story gives you the back story of one of the very minor characters who played a huge role in events. Find out who April really is and why she does what she does. This story is set in the decade preceding Book One, and the framework is set at the very end of Book Two.

January 2007. The story of how Wesley first met Auby, and building a life together before the attack. The story chronicles the five years immediately preceding Book One, and the framework occurs around the middle of Book Two.

March 2007. Tommy and Liz's history is long and complicated, but for the first time, it is all revealed. Part I begins with college starting up, and the two meet for the first time. It chronicles their first, rocky month of dating. The framing story takes place near the end of Book Three, so it's a sneak peek for AAN readers!

April 2007. The story continues as Tommy and Liz both seek romance elsewhere while finishing out the school year. But will they be happy with someone else, or is it their destiny to end up with each other?

May 2007. This part will go through the ups and downs of Liz and Tommy's second year together, as they finally seek some stability in their relationship, and their friends grow more and more wary.

June 2007. Tommy and Liz rapidly approach the end of the college year, and the beginning of Book One when Tommy will disappear, as we know. Find out what happens in the last chapter of this back story!

August 2007. Geisha is plagued by visions of future prophets, including Meredith Reel. They tell him of strange things to come and instruct him to carve five stone prophecies. This is a brief glimpse of the life of the most important Prophet to ever be born!

December 2007. Clark wakes up to a nightmarish world and decides to keep a journal. See what happened during the war for North America during Books Two and Three through the eyes of a soldier on the front line!

February 2008. Mark Hall, Katie's father and Dr. Smith's top agent, was in Wester Jeffersonville well before the events of the books. You might be surprised what he was doing there, and who he encounters. This will serve as a sort of lead-in for Florida State of Mind, which will be continued in An Actor's Nightmare Book Four. Sorry if it leaves you with more questions than answers!

March 2008. MegaCon Convention Exclusive! Not available online, but will be in paperback. Katie Hall's family has been slaughtered by the geese, turning an innocent twenty-one year old's life upside down. Dr. Smith takes her back to his base, but what will she do now?
